The historic port city of Albany is located in the Great Southern Region of Western Australia. It is only 30 minutes drive from the Nullaki Peninsula on which the Nullaki and Wolfes Landing Eco Retreats are located. It was once a whaling port but originally a military outpost created to stop the French (Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte) from laying claim to Western Australia. It even predates the formation of the swan river colony so was the first European settlement in WA. There are endless stunning locations to visit and experience close by. Beautiful bays and beaches, National Parks and native forest walks and rambles, the famous Bibbulmun Track a few hundred metres down the road and more. Great fishing both boat and land based locations almost guarantee a feed. Iconic locations such as The Gap, Frenchmans Bay, The Gallipoli Memorial, Princess Royal Harbour,  as well as Cosy Corner Beach and West Cape Howe National Park close by.
